Waxed Amaryllis bulbs do not require any water because the bulbs contain all the water and nutrients they need to flower.
Simply place them on a tabletop or any other flat surface in your home. Keep your Amaryllis in a well-lit room, but avoid direct sunlight. Rotate it every couple of days to help it grow straighter.
Never freeze the bulbs. Temperatures below zero will damage the bulbs badly.
What to expect?
No buds: blooms should be expected between 4 to 7 weeks.
Budding: blooms should be expected in one week.
Open buds: enjoy blooms for 3-4 weeks!
Some varieties are slow bloomers and can take longer to bloom (10 - 12 weeks). Every bulb grows at it's own rate and we have no way of controlling when they will actually bloom.
Can waxed Amaryllises bloom again?
Saving and replanting your Waxed Amaryllis bulb is a little trickier and not guaranteed to work, but it has been done before (with success!). Check out this helpful video from Mark Viette on how to extract and plant the bulb: https://youtu.be/IPKBNr1XfLk
